A recent delegation from Germany, led by Bodo Ramelow, visited Da Nang, Vietnam, to explore avenues for enhancing collaboration between the city and German partners across various sectors. This visit aimed to strengthen existing socio-economic ties and to delve into new opportunities in fields such as education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.

During discussions with Da Nang’s local authorities, both parties reviewed the current state of their cooperation and expressed a keen interest in expanding these partnerships. Da Nang officials were particularly eager to work more closely with German regions and institutions, focusing on human resource development, vocational education, and German language training. They also encouraged increased German investment in high-tech industries, including semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation.

Ramelow emphasized the potential of vocational education as a key area for cooperation. He proposed the creation of joint training programs that would enable graduates to gain qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. Additionally, he expressed support for enhancing business relations and exploring new investment opportunities between the two regions.

Germany plays a significant role as one of Da Nang’s main European partners, with a broad spectrum of cooperation that includes trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange.
