At the IFA Berlin 2026, Singapore’s health tech firm Actxa unveiled the Spark Band, a new screenless wearable that integrates various health tracking features such as sleep, recovery, heart health, and fitness monitoring with their innovative non-invasive glucose awareness technology. The wristband, designed for continuous use both day and night, employs BGEM technology to deliver an AI Glucose Snapshot. This feature provides users with an estimated glucose range and an indicative value within about a minute, intended for general wellness rather than medical diagnosis.
The Spark Band encourages users to monitor glucose patterns throughout the day, including around meal times, promoting a broader understanding of health trends in conjunction with lifestyle data rather than focusing on single readings. Beyond glucose awareness, the device offers comprehensive health tracking through the Actxa app, covering sleep stages, sleep scores, and overnight signals. It also includes a recovery function that compares sleep HRV against a personal baseline and provides a 30-day recovery trend analysis. For fitness enthusiasts, it tracks movement, intensity minutes, workouts, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age, with LED and vibration alerts to indicate when a user reaches their targeted heart rate zone.
Weighing just 22 grams, the Spark Band is equipped with a zinc-alloy casing and a soft nylon braided strap, offering up to 14 days of battery life. It features a screenless design to minimize distractions, using LED and vibration cues for alerts and notifications. The device is designed to withstand everyday water exposure, boasting an IP68 rating, and can store data for up to seven days before syncing with the app via Bluetooth Low Energy. It is compatible with both Android 8.0 and iOS 15.6 or later, and notably does not require a monthly subscription or service fee.
Starting September 24, 2026, pre-orders for the Spark Band will be available at SGD 199 or USD 149, with an official launch set for November 18, 2026. Initially, the device will be released in select markets across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Actxa also plans promotional discounts during the pre-order phase, including a 40% early-bird offer until October 31, a 20% discount from November 1 to 17, and a 10% launch offer post-launch.
Founded in 2015, Actxa Pte Ltd specializes in developing wearable devices and proprietary technologies for health and wellness tracking. Their Spark Band’s AI Glucose Snapshot is designed solely for wellness awareness and is not intended for managing or diagnosing medical conditions. Battery life may vary depending on usage and settings, and while water-resistant, the device’s durability could decrease over time with regular use.
